The city of Freiburg Germany is one of the "greenest" cities in the world. Looking around the city, it is easy to see the influences of sustainable design. In the cities research for sustainable design and resource conservation, it found that these elements would play a very important role in the city’s economy. Sustainable design has promoted political and economic growth for the city brining in the attention of entrepreneurs from all over. Freiburg also has very impressive recycling rates. About 69% of all waste is recycled. The rest of the city’s waste is burned at a waste management facility that uses the heat to produce power for much of the city of Freiburg.
